It’s been a busy month as the SMPTV year wraps up, and I’m only now finding the time to organize my projects and update my demos. Here’s my final orchestra piece from the school year, recorded in April with a 65-piece orchestra at Warner Bros.
Don’t Panic

“Don’t Panic” – comforting words to intergalactic hitchhikers, and also the title of my newest piece.
Last weekend I had the opportunity to record an original jazz chart for the Thornton Jazz Orchestra at Capitol Records. I have written for big bands before, but this was a unique opportunity; a top of the line recording studio, a stellar ensemble, and 21 time Grammy Award winning engineer Al Schmitt became the ingredients of an amazing experience.
Back To It
Last weekend my SMPTV classmates and I recorded our comedy underscores at The Bridge in Glendale. While the process was very rewarding and educational, I think I’ll take a brief hiatus from pizzicato writing…
I’m also wrapping up a short film that will be recording this weekend. More to come as the semester progresses!
